Privacy Policy for Paddles

Paddles (“the App”) is a kayaking and canoeing application designed to help users record, view, and manage paddling activities. Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how your information is handled when you use the App.

1. Information We Collect

Paddles does not collect personal data on external servers.

The App may process the following information locally on your device or within your private iCloud account:

• Activity data (such as routes, distance, duration, and speed)
• GPS location data recorded during paddling activities
• Manually entered activity details (such as notes or boat type)
• Public segment data created within the App

2. How Your Data Is Stored

Your data is stored in one or more of the following locations:

• On your device, using local storage
• In your private iCloud account, using Apple’s iCloud services

Paddles does not operate its own servers and does not store your data outside of Apple’s iCloud infrastructure. Access to iCloud data is governed by your Apple ID and Apple’s security and privacy protections.

3. Public Segments

Paddles allows users to create “public segments” for comparison and analysis.

• Public segments are not publicly accessible on the internet
• Public segments are visible only within the Paddles iCloud database
• Access is limited to users of the App
• No personally identifiable information is attached to public segments

4. Data Sharing

Paddles does not:

• Sell your data
• Share your data with third parties
• Use advertising or tracking SDKs
• Use third-party analytics services

Your data is never shared outside your device or iCloud account unless you explicitly choose to export it.

5. Location Data

Location data is used solely for:

• Recording paddling routes
• Displaying maps and activity summaries

Location data is collected only while using the App and is stored locally or in your iCloud account. It is never transmitted to external servers.

You can control location access at any time through your device settings.

6. Data Export and Deletion

You have full control over your data.

You may:

• Delete activities within the App
• Disable iCloud syncing via your device settings
• Delete the App to remove locally stored data

Data stored in iCloud can be managed or deleted through your Apple ID settings.

7. Children’s Privacy

Paddles does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. All data remains on-device or in the user’s private iCloud account.

8. Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.

Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
